USTR Requests International Trade Commission to Monitor Imports of Strawberries, Bell Peppers

The U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has requested that the U.S. International Trade Commission begin monitoring imports of strawberries (0810.10) and bell peppers (0709.60.4015, 0709.60.4025, 0709.60.4065, 0709.60.4085).

This action is a result of the requests of the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association, The Florida Strawberry Growers Association and the Florida Farm Bureau alleging that trade is “distorting practices that might be contributing to unfair pricing in the United States.  This could result in Section 232 or Antidumping action.

We will continue to monitor the situation.
