The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has proposed revisions to the regulations concerning the inspection and certification of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other products regulated under Section 8e. The proposal is to amend certain fees charged for import inspections from a per-carlot basis to a per-pound basis, establishing a new fee calculation for lots less than a carlot, and other reductions.
Comments about these revisions are being accepted through August 19, 2024.
