US Department of Commerce opens Investigations on Vietnamese Cold Rolled Steel Flat Products

The US department of Commerce has opened two new investigations into whether or not Chinese cold-rolled flat products have been shipped to Vietnam to undergo minor processing to avoid anti-dumping and countervailing duty on imports into the United States.  This investigation stemmed from several complaints received from US Steel manufacturers. Vietnam has become the biggest exporter of steel into the US market this year, jumping from 36,000 tons to 556,000 tons.
