For the first time in the Port of Philadelphia, US Customs and border Protection discovered scarab beetles in a shipment of pineapples from Costa Rica. This beetle could have been a serious agricultural threat if it was not discovered in the ocean container that contained 1,500 cases of pineapples. This shipment was secured and fumigated.
