US Customs and Border Protection Agricultural Specialists in Houston destroyed 7,000 pounds of papayas that were destined for Florida. Upon routine inspection, CBP discovered that the load was infested with papaya mealybugs. Â Unfortunately, there is no treatment available for this pest, so the importer is given the option of exporting the goods or destroying them.
