As we continue to follow the ongoing humanitarian and security crisis on the Southwest border of the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) updated the deployment of border agents to the southern border. Officers from other ports have been reassigned to the southern border to assist with the crisis. During the Southern Border Trade call this week, CBP advised that they have been balancing deployments from multiple ports to not disrupt any one individual port’s operations.  They cited that of the 1,100 officers in Buffalo, only 30 have been deployed to the southern border.
We will continue to follow this story in the Willson eNews and report if the staffing reassignments result in any tangible delays in processing of trucks at the border.
