U.S. Ends 10 Percent tariffs on Unwrought Aluminum

U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced that the 10 percent duty on non-alloyed unwrought aluminum that began on August 16th  officially ended on October 27th when U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) expired the tariff number that was used to assess the duty.

This action will be retroactive to September 1st. Therefore, U.S. Customs and Border Protection will refund duty paid from September 1st to October 27th, 2020

However, the USTR stated that the duty could return based on monthly import levels.

This duty was levied on imports of non-alloyed unwrought aluminum provided for in subheading 7601.10.  This included 7601.10.3000, 7601.10.6030, and 7601.10.6090.
