This is the time of year when companies are preparing to be an exhibitor at a trade show in the United States. So, before you load those skids, here are a few items to be cautious about shipping:
- Apparel and Textile Items – The manufacturer’s name and address are required. Also, these items carry a very high duty rate.
- Pens – Require a TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) Certification
- Food – Even unsold food for giveaways requires FDA Prior Notice which includes manufacturer, FDA registration, packaging details, and an FSVP importer
- Food Contact Items – Plates, utensils, and cooking equipment require the name and address of the manufacturer
- Sunglasses – Require a ‘Drop Ball” Certification
- Wood Products (toothpicks, skewers) – Require a Lacey Act Declaration
If you plan to ship these items, please contact the US Transition Team in advance at transitionus@willsonintl.com.
