The US Senate passed customs bill 78-20 that includes renewals for the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). The bill now is headed for the House of Representatives. However, this bill may remain just that, until other trade related bills also pass through the Senate. It appears unlikely that any passage will occur before the May 22nd Memorial Day recess.
