Reminder Information on Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products Regulations

The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is looking to update the contact information of potential manufacturers, importers and retailers of composite wood products, as well as organizations that have general interest in Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products Regulations (CANFER). This is to ensure that new information, such as finalization of the proposed amendments to CANFER, reaches businesses and organizations successfully.

As a reminder, on January 7, 2023, the Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products Regulations (CANFER) prohibited the sale, offer for sale, or import of composite wood products that release formaldehyde at levels that exceed the regulatory emission limits. Please see the CANFER factsheet for more information.

Please email promcon-on-compro@ec.gc.ca with the preferred contact information for your company to receive information about CANFER. Does your company have multiple branches? If so, please indicate whether or not a single person will be the point of contact for all of them.

Please include the following information in your email:

  1. Business name:
  2. Business address:
