A reminder that CBP will begin requiring mandatory use of ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) for Lacey Act and NHTSA cargo release and MOST entry summary filings effective March 31, 2016.
ACE will become the only mechanism for filing electronic entry summaries for common entry types including Formal, Informal, TIB and AD/CVD entries. These entry types cover the majority of cargo entering the United States.

Wood products regulated by the Lacey Act must have their data submitted through the ACE system beginning March 31st, 2016. If your company currently completes a PPQ 505 form, otherwise known as a Lacey Declaration, this will apply. Please review the document in the attached link for guidance in preparation for the deadline.
Commodities that are regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will be required to have additional data elements electronically transmitted through CBP’s ACE system beginning March 31st, 2016.
