The following is provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Registration is now open for the national Plant and Animal Health Planning Forum being held on December 6-7, 2016 in Ottawa at the Marriot Hotel (100 Kent Street). This Forum is an opportunity for all who play a role in plant and animal health to come together to collectively identify, plan and prioritize actions for strengthening plant and animal health in Canada.

If you are interested in participating, please use the following link to register.

We are also pleased to announce that the honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, will provide opening remarks at the Forum. For more information on the Forum, including a draft agenda, please visit the CFIA website.

Are you doing something to safeguard plant and animal health that others could learn from? Kiosks are available to showcase the great work being done across Canada to prevent risks to plant and animal resources. Contact us at PAHS-SSVA@inspection.gc.ca to arrange yours!

There is no cost to register for this event. However, participants are responsible for covering all associated travel costs, including food outside of what is provided at the event, accommodation, transportation and parking.

A block of hotel rooms at a reduced rate is available at the Marriott Hotel until November 18th, 2016. You can reserve a room online or call 1.800.853.8463 and indicate that you will be attending the Plant and Animal Health Planning Forum.
