The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has overwhelmingly voted in favour of striking.
This includes clerical staff at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Uniformed officers are not involved in the job action.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is advising that as a result of a potential strike by certain members, the trade community may encounter increased job action activities.
Payments that customs brokers or importers provide to the CBSA clerical staff to account for transactions may be affected.
Importers that have established a CARM client account can continue making payments through that portal.
Importers that have not registered for a CARM client account are encouraged to do so.
Importers who make their own payments to CBSA can refer to the CBSA Commercial payments and accounts page for options.
Importers should reference their business number (BN15, for example, 123456789RM0001) as the account number (not the Canada Revenue Agency RT account number), when making payments.
Importers making payment by cheque can be directed to the address provided on the CBSA Commercial payments and accounts page.
Importers may wish to make arrangements with their broker to make payments.
If you have arranged with your customs broker for them to pay the duties and taxes to CBSA on your behalf, it is important to note that any payments you make in the CARM client portal will not be applied against outstanding amounts.
Importers are encouraged to consult with their customs broker prior to making any payments.
The CARM Client portal will provide access to the importers to view their statements and account details online as well as make payments.
