Proposed new requirements for consumer chemical products under the CCPSA consultation extended

On July 11, 2023, Health Canada launched a consultation on a proposal to introduce new requirements for human health hazards of concern (HHHOCs), such as carcinogens, mutagens, and reproductive toxicants, in consumer chemical products under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA). The proposed new requirements include the introduction of classification criteria for HHHOCs, information disclosure requirements, and additional protections for the health and safety of people in Canada.

 Health Canada has also issued a pre-recorded webinar and a Question & Answer (Q&A) session on the Slido platform.
