Prohibited Commodities from the Dominican Republic Due to Medfly

Recently, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) issued a Federal Order, FO-2015-14, which suspended all imports of fruit and vegetable commodities known to be Mediterranean fruit fly (Medfly) hosts from the Dominican Republic. Commodities prohibited are the Avocado, clementine, grape, grapefruit, lemon, litchi, longan, mamey (sapote), mandarin, mango*, orange, papaya, pepper, pummelo, tangelo, tangerine, tomato, tuna (cactus fruit.) Commercial shipments of mangoes may be entered under conditions of the APHIS hot water treatment.
