CFIA has issued a revised directive, (D-00-07) Phytosanitary requirements to prevent the introduction and spread of apple maggot (Rhagoletis pomonella).
The revised directive establishes a pest free area for apple maggot in the southern interior of British Columbia. Â It also includes several minor changes, such as clarification of the requirements for fresh apples and empty, used apple containers, both of which could harbor various life stages of the insect.
