Phytosanitary requirements to prevent the introduction and spread of apple maggot

CFIA has issued a revised directive, (D-00-07) Phytosanitary requirements to prevent the introduction and spread of apple maggot (Rhagoletis pomonella).

The revised directive establishes a pest free area for apple maggot in the southern interior of British Columbia.  It also includes several minor changes, such as clarification of the requirements for fresh apples and empty, used apple containers, both of which could harbor various life stages of the insect.
