Please be advised that due to the new Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) regulations: (EU) 2017/622 and (EU) 2017/731 brought into force by the European Union (EU), revised veterinary certificates are required for the export of fresh domestic bovine and bison meat, meat preparations, and certain meat products and treated stomachs, bladders and intestines. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has updated the veterinary model certificates: Annex A, Annex F and Annex F-1 with the new TSE requirements.
Canadian establishments that export meat products to the EU must ensure that all shipments to the EU are accompanied with the new version of the certificates. The previous version of the certificates, issued on or before November 30, 2017, will continue to be accepted for importation of meat products into the EU during the transition period, which ends on December 31, 2017.
