Mandatory AMS Requirements Delayed

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) made the filing of Section 8e requirements through U.S. Customs & Border Protection’s Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) System mandatory and the phased in enforcement period began on September 2nd, 2020.

Originally set for full implementation on February 1st, 2022, this date has now been moved back until February 28th, 2022.

Section 8e requires certain fruit and vegetable imports to meet the same grade, size, quality and maturity standards as their domestically produced counterparts.
