Lacey Act Violation Results in Destruction of Timber

Twenty-Four (24) pallets of timber, allegedly harvested in violation of Peruvian Law, were ordered to be destroyed by the United States Department of Justice.  This marks the first time, since its implementation on 2008, that this type of action was taken.  The Lacey Act prohibits importing, exporting, transporting or receiving timber harvested in violation of foreign laws.
