An American and International coalition has formed to oppose limitations on the importation of blueberries into the United State. The Blueberry Coalition for Progress & Health is composed of American and international blueberry growers, importers, distributors, purchasers, and suppliers that oppose limitations on blueberry imports. This is ahead of the International Trade Commission’s hearing on the subject.
This coalition’s position is that imports do not cause injury to the U.S. blueberry market. Rather, it is helping fulfill the increased demand. Furthermore, any limitation on imports will limit consumer access to the fruit.
