India Imports to the U.S. are No Longer eligible for GSP
On Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued CSMS message 19-000275 regarding two trade issues surrounding importation of India origin commodities into the United States.
The President of the United States has determined that India is no longer a developing country. Therefore, beginning June 5th, 2019, Indian exports are no longer eligible for the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program or safeguard exemptions for solar cells and residential washers.
