US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Customs and Border Protection, and Homeland Security Investigations released their annual report on the products seized last year that were deemed to be violating intellectual property rights. These 28,000-plus shipments carried a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of over $1.35 billion dollars. That is a ten percent increase over last year. This increase can be directly linked to the renewed focus on ‘knock off’ goods as well as ongoing training of federal employees in this specific topic area.
