HTSUS Changes Scheduled for January 27th

The White House issued “Proclamation to Modify the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States and for Other Purposes.” This proclamation will amend the tariff schedule to implement the five-year update to the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) Harmonized Tariff System tariff nomenclature.

The Federal Register Notice issued December 28th marks the date of the tariff changes for shipments bound for the US to take effect on January 27th, 2022. A full report of the HTSUS changes can be found here.

The WCO tariff changes for shipments entering Canada are still scheduled to take effect on January 1st, 2022. A full report on the Canadian HTS changes can be found here.
