Furniture Importer Settles ADD Evasion Suit for $1.5 Million

An Illinois furniture importer has reached a civil settlement with the United States that companies allegedly made, or conspired to make, false statements to avoid paying anti-dumping duty on wooden bedroom furniture made in China.  This company imports dormitory furniture and allegedly conspired to misclassify the items to avoid the duties.

Anti-dumping duty exists to protect American manufacturing and level the playing field in various industry sectors.
