The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued notice that fresh cherries from Ontario will be refused entries at all US ports effective immediately. Â This action is to prevent the introduction of the European Cherry Fruit Fly which was recently detected in Ontario. Â Fresh Cherries from other provinces are allowed if they are accompanied by a bill of lading or vendor receipt that confirms the origin. Â This ban does not include frozen, canned, or cooked cherries.
