FDA Updates Food Facility Registrations to align with the FSMA

The US Food and Drug Administration has updated the food facility registration product categories to increase the FDA’s ability to respond to food related emergencies.  Additions to the animal foods category include: botanicals and herbs, direct fed microbial, animal protein products and human food by-products.  Mollusca shellfish have now been added as a category as well.  If your company has a food facility registration, please check and update your registrations to comply with the new updates.
