FDA Releases a “Draft Guidance” Document covering Proposed FSMA Rules

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a draft of the proposed rules for statements that must accompany documents in accordance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Though this guidance does not establish legally enforceable responsibilities at this time, importers of food should be aware of these changes in order to remain compliant.  This particular release contains the FDA’s thinking on four (4) or the seven (7) of the foundational rules contained in the FSMA.
