FDA Proposes Ban on Powdered Medical Gloves

The US Food and Drug Administration has proposed a ban on all surgical and examination gloves that contain absorbable powder. The idea is that the risks of allergens and surgical complications outweigh the benefits. Under the proposed ban, all such products would need to be removed from the market or deemed adulterated. Powdered radiographic gloves would be exempt. This rule would take effect 30 days after adoption.
