FDA Plans to Address Risks of Imported Mushrooms & Bulb Onions

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) released a ”Constituent Update” contains two reports on their strategies surrounding the control of salmonellosis and listeriosis in enoki and wood ear mushrooms, as well as salmonellosis in bulb onions. These measures are being instituted to prevent outbreaks such as the E. coli outbreaks associated with leafy greens.
