FDA import Alert Issued on Aquaculture Shrimp from Malaysia

On April 18^th the FDA issued an import alert to hold all shipments of aqua-cultured shrimp and prawns from peninsular Malaysia. This alert was issued after one third of tested samples came back positive for residues of nitrofurans and chloramphenicol. This alert does not apply to the Malaysian states of Sarawak and Sabah.
