FDA Announces Plans for Development of Animal Food Ingredient Standards

Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) set plans to establish standards and definitions for animal food ingredients, as required by the Food and Drug Administration Amendments Act of 2007. The FDA will review the ingredients to be sure they are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) or that they are approved additives.
