According to US Trade representative Michael Froman, most US footwear makers are in support of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The TPP would reduce the foreign tariffs on US made shoes, which can climb as high as 67%. The TPP would allow for US manufacturers to grow by lowering the trade and tariff barriers.
