The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a ruling that exempts unfinished and untreated trunk wood from testing for heavy metals in the toy safety standard, effective September 15th. This requirement should reduce the cost for toy manufacturers in the coming years. This change had been lobbied for by the Toy Industry Association for the past few years.
