CFIA – Meat and Fish Updates

The following have been updated on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency website.

Certification requirements for export of poultry products to Vietnam in ‘Annex B’ of Chapter 11 have been updated as of March 14, 2016. Effective immediately, please use the new Annex B for export of the stated product to Vietnam available through the CFIA inspection staff.

Common names for the following species were added or modified within the CFIA Fish List (Athyonidium chilensis, Etrumeus whiteheadi. Haliotis corrugata, Haliotis fulgens, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, Perca fluviatilis, Pleuronectes platessa, Scomber colias, Scomber spp., Spisula solidissima

All requests are processed in accordance with the Guidance on Determining the Common Names for Fish Sold or Processed in Canada

Update to the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures (MOP) Chapter 10, Annex A, Greenland. The import of meat and meat products from Greenland is now allowed.
