CFIA Webinar – Safe Food for Canadians Regulations for the Manufactured Food Sector

Your business may be subject to federal food regulations, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) wants to help you understand what this means for you.

If you are a small business operating in Canada’s manufactured food sector – a sector that includes a wide range of foods, from herbs and spices to grain-based foods to oils, beverages and more – there are rules that you need to follow. Your business may be required to obtain a Safe Food for Canadians licence and have preventive controls and traceability measures in place if you:

  • import food into Canada
  • export food out of Canada
  • prepare food for trade between provinces

To help businesses in the manufactured food sector understand these requirements, the CFIA will be hosting a webinar about the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) and what they mean for your business.

During the session, you will:

  • learn about licensing, preventive controls, and traceability requirements
  • have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from CFIA’s experts
  • discover the tools and resources the CFIA offers to help your business prepare for the SFCR
