This notice is to advise Trade Chain Partners (importers and brokers) that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will be conducting some maintenance on their commercial systems. As a result, the following electronic CFIA services will be unavailable from October 28 , 2023 3:00 pm to October 30, 2023 7:00 am (ET):
- Automated Import Reference System Verification Service (AVS)
- CFIA Shipment Tracker for Food, Plant and Animal products
- Electronic Data Interchange – Integrated Import Declaration (EDI – IID)
Importers and brokers are encouraged to submit EDI release requests requiring CFIA approval prior to 11:00 AM (ET) on October 28, 2023 to avoid processing delays.
Pending electronic release requests received after 3:00 PM (ET) will be processed as per normal when maintenance has concluded. As such, there is no need for clients to take any action for shipments that do not require immediate release.
