CFIA Safe Food for Canadians Act – Regulations

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has advised it is currently targeting late 2016 for pre-publication of the proposed Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) in Canada Gazette, Part I.

Pre-publication will launch a public comment period of 120 days, followed by analysis of comments and potential adjustments to the draft. Following this, the CFIA will seek to bring the SFCR into force and publish the Regulations in Canada Gazette, Part II.
