The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is publishing the revised directive D-98-08 Entry requirements for wood packaging material into Canada that includes the new shipborne dunnage program.
In April 2021, the CFIA announced that a new shipborne dunnage program would be implemented, as detailed in the risk management document RMD 20-02.
In February 2022 a consultation took place on the revised directive. The CFIA is now ready to publish a final version of the directive. The directive, including the new shipborne dunnage program, will be fully applicable as of July 6th, 2023.
