CFIA – New requirements for Lobesia botrana on July 4, 2016

The following is provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

This message is to inform you that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is implementing new phytosanitary import requirements to prevent the introduction of Lobesia botrana, the European grapevine moth, into Canada. As previously notified, new requirements for various fresh fruits are coming into effect on July 4, 2016. Requirements for kiwi fruit and for other products such as plants for planting and fresh cut herbs will be coming into effect in fall 2016 (exact date to be determined).
