The following have been update on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency website.

New certificate requirements for fish and fishery products destined for import in Bahrain

Please be advised that the CFIA has posted the export certification requirements for fish and fishery products destined for import in Bahrain.

Canadian Certified Shellfish Dealers and List of Leases Approved to Export Raw Oyster Products to Japan

Please be advised that the Web page for “Canadian Certified Shellfish Dealers and List of Leases Approved to Export Raw Oyster Products to Japan” has been updated.

List of certified shellfish dealers approved to export to Japan:

Added: 0740 – Pacific Northwest Shellfish Co. Ltd.
Added: 1984 – Dunn’s Oyster Company

Update to “Import Information By Jurisdiction – Netherlands”

Please be advised that a “List of Establishments Approved to Export Live or Raw Molluscan Shellfish from Netherlands to Canada” has been added.

This list includes one establishment:

Annex 1 List of Establishments Approved to Export to Hong Kong

Please be advised that the List of Establishments approved to export meat to Hong Kong in Chapter 11 of the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures (MHMP), has been revised with the following information:

Establishment 443: add (2016-07-19), Beef products.
Establishment 373: add (2014-08-11), Beef products.
Establishment 431: add (2014-05-21), Beef products.

Restoration of Beef Export to Taiwan

Taiwan has removed its temporary ban on import of Canadian beef and beef products.

Taiwan will accept beef and beef products derived from animals slaughtered and processed on or after July 8, 2016.

The export certification requirements are outlined in Chapter 11 of Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures

The official veterinarians must forward a copy of the signed export certificate to Dr. Yadvinder Sandhu as soon as the first consignment of beef and beef products destined to Taiwan is certified.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency will forward the pertinent information to Taiwanese authorities so that they can make arrangements for import inspection of Canadian beef shipments.

Update – MHMOP, Chapter 11 – Export of Meat Products to Mexico

Please note that Mexican authorities have informed the Canadian Food Inspection Agency that recently they have received Canadian meat shipments which do not meet Mexican labelling requirements.

Some of these shipments are on hold and are not being released by the Mexican authorities.
To prevent occurrence of such incidents, the operators are requested to follow MHMOP CH.11 Mexico Section 11.7.3.5 on Special Marking and Packaging Requirements.”

Chap. 11 MHMP/MMHV – Section 11.7.3, Annex W – United States

Please be advised that export requirements under section 11.7.3, Annex W – United States of the Chapter 11 of the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures (MHMP), have been updated with the following information:

Establishment 366: add code 03C (raw product intact) for lamb, add code 03B (raw product – not intact) for beef.

Meat Export to China

Chinese authorities have formally expressed concern regarding the recent surge in requests for change in information reported on the Annex D weekly list of export certificates issued for China.

It has been reported that various Canadian meat shipments are on hold due to multiple requests for changes to information submitted in Annex D to the Chinese authorities.

Operators/Exporters are advised to exercise due diligence while submitting the information in Annex D and they must ensure that accurate and complete information is submitted timely when requesting changes to Annex D.
