The Canadain Food Inspecyion Ahgency (CFIA) has confirmed that heat treatment and fumigation are the two acceptable phytosanitary treatments for importations of non-propagative wood products from all origins other than the continental United States.
This information can be found in CFIA Directive D-02-12.
The CFIA has also advised that D-02-12, is being revised and the option of heat treatment for wooden handicrafts and other wooden articles other than lumber will be clearly indicated.
