CFIA approach to Health Canada guidance for novel foods

Please be advised that a new Notice to industry – Implementation for Health Canada’s new guidance for novel food regulations focused on plant breeding has been published.

The notice summarizes the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) compliance and enforcement approach to the implementation of Health Canada’s new guidance for novel foods. bRegulated parties are encouraged to refer to CFIA’s Industry Labelling Tool on Method of production claims and Health Canada’s webpage on Genetically modified foods and other novel foods.
