CBP’s Legacy System, ACS, to be shutdown July 23rd

ACS, the system that preceded ACE, will have the majority of its functionality shut down beginning Saturday.  ACS will be set to issue errors on many electronic entry types.  Citing system downtimes and delayed processing, industry groups have requested that ACS remain active as a ‘safety net’ for the time being.  CBP has given no indication that the request will be granted; however, CBP will circulate a National Contingency Plan in the event of ACE disruption.
