CBP to Refuse Chilean Seabass Entry without NOAA Pre-Authorization

U.S. Customs & Border Protection issued CSMS message 19-000017 advising that “all shipments of frozen Patagonian Toothfish (Chilean Seabass) arriving at a CBP Port of Entry (POE) without the required NOAA pre-approval authorization and associated catch document certification… will be rejected and prohibited from entry without all required documents.”  This decision was reached due to the government shutdown as NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) employees have been impacted by the government shutdown.
