This week the trade community received a message regarding the FDA’s new FSVP program that is part of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).  The FSMA mandated the creation of a food system that focuses on preventing food safety problems, rather than reacting after they occur.  These changes will impact importers of record, consignees, manufacturers, shippers, and foreign suppliers.
