CBP & FDA Aware of ACE Processing Delays

CSMS #38970050 was issued this week acknowledging that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) are aware of intermittent slowdowns during peak afternoon hours. In the notice, the FDA states, “To facilitate movement of perishable shipments to the importer’s premises, prior notice requirements may be filed in the Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI) or the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) PE Transaction.  The prior notice that is issued may then be linked to the Customs entry.”
