Cancellation of inspection system for the export of meat to Canada

Effective August 6, 2024, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will cancel the recognition of a foreign state’s inspection system, as no meat products have been exported to Canada from the foreign state in the last 5 years.
The following countries and species will be impacted:
• Australia: Farmed deer, wild hunted game; Tasmanian Brushtail, ratites
• Greenland: Farmed reindeer
• Iceland: Ovine and Caprine
• New Zealand: Ratites
European Union members states
• Belgium: Bovine
• Croatia: Poultry
• Czech Republic: Bovine
• Denmark: Poultry
• Finland: Bovine and poultry
• France: Ratites
• Italy: Rabbits
• Portugal: Bovine, rabbits, ovine and caprine and cervids
• Slovenia: Bovine and swine
• Spain: Poultry
• Sweden: Poultry
