Asian Longhorned beetle compensation for property owners

Regulatory amendments to the Introduced Forest Pest Compensation Regulations make compensation available to property owners whose trees have been ordered removed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to eliminate the Asian longhorned beetle.

The same regulations have also repealed compensation to those owners whose trees have been removed to slow the spread of emerald ash borer and brown spruce longhorn beetle.

These regulatory amendments were published in the Canada Gazette, Part II on May 4, 2016.
