The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Core message set will begin to send reject flagging on March 15th, 2021.
Impacted commodities are flagged as either AQ-1 (may be required) or AQ-2 (required). If your goods are flagged AQ-2, and the APHIS Core message set is not transmitted, your shipment will not be able to cross the border to the United States.
Your company may have goods that are flagged as AQ1 (may be required), but are not regulated under Core. If that is the case, you may be contacted for approval to disclaim that requirement at the time of entry.
If you have questions on your company’s status, please contact transitionus@willsonintl.com and we will route you to our APHIS Core implementation team.
