The following is available in its entirety on the Canada Border Services Agency website.
Liquid Dielectric Transformers – Expiry Review Decision
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review continuing, without amendment, its finding concerning the dumping of liquid dielectric transformers having a top power handling capacity equal to or exceeding 60,000 kilovolt amperes (60 megavolt amperes), whether assembled or un-assembled, complete or incomplete, originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea.
As a result of the CITT’s expiry review, on July 26, 2017, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods.
The investigation has now been completed and the CBSA has determined that the expiry of the order concerning the dumping of certain liquid dielectric transformers originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods to Canada.
A Statement of Reasons that contains additional details concerning the determination issued within 15 days. The Statement of Reasons will be posted on the CBSA’s website.
The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its order is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and has announced that it will issue its decision no later than May 31, 2018.
